Family day is coming fast! With an entire day off to spend with your family, you might as well make the most of it! Here is a list of things you can do in Ottawa and the Surrounding Area during the Family Day long weekend.

Winterlude

January 31st-February 17th

Winterlude turns Canada's Capital reason into a winter wonderland. Enjoy the outdoors and skate along the Rideau Canal, view the elegant and beautiful ice sculptures, get a nice warm Beavertail, and take the kids to the Snowflake Kingdom (great for adults too!). With so many different things to see and do, you'll be entertained all weekend long!

 

The Museum's Winter Carnival 

February 15th-17th 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The Museum's Winter Carnival offers fun for the whole family! Make an origami case for a lucky coin, borrow a detective tool kit for an artifact scavenger hunt, do some colouring, take a fun selfie with accessories, or try your hand at the beanbag toss! 

 

Maple Tree Tapping at the Vanier Sugar Shack

The Vanier Sugar Shack is home to the only active sugar shack in an urban setting in the world! For many decades, tapping their trees has marked the opening of the sugar season in Ottawa. Come take part in this very Canadian activity, supervised by their in house maple producers, and enjoy a free pancake breakfast!

Family Craft Day

Family Day on the Farm

Enjoy indoor and outdoor fun at the Experimental Farm! Create beautiful crafts, stop by the demonstration kitchen for pancakes and maple syrup, explore the sights and sounds of farm life through animals, and watch the hands-on presentations.
